Notes on Art of seeing

Group 2
Their proportion, texture and movement pictures were all very good. They also had a very interesting choice for emphasis.
Group 3
We used a similar picture for variety. Their rhythm picture is hard to relate to.
Group 4
Their space and texture pictures are interesting and unique. Their variety picture could also pass for proportion.
Group 5
We used a similar picture for variety. Their emphasis picture was very nice. Their balance picture of the chapel seemed to be a reoccurring idea in many of the groups.
Group 6
The use of the flags for color was a very different and interesting picture for color. Their emphasis and variety are both nice pictures.
Group 7
The unity picture was the same as our variety picture, using it as unity is an interesting take on it. Their texture picture was nice.
Group 8

Their photos started off dull yet gradually became very colorful and unique. Their harmony, variety and unity pictures are all very interesting.

Color assignment




Black happens to be my favorite color (hue), simply because not only does it match with almost very other color, but it has a very mysterious and cool appeal to it. not to mention it is very fashionable and hides imperfection.

Grocery Store Photograph

1. The picture literally consists of items that can be commonly found within a Super market or grocery store. Some of the items that are present in the pictures and in different brands are cereals, laundry detergent,  dental care products and drinks to mention a few.
2. Upon an initial glance the photograph depicts a strong sense of chaos in terms of the vast variety of products in the photograph. however, when you look closer you realize there is actually great care in the placing and organization of the product on the shelves. the emotions of the costumers seem to be very passive and focused on the activity at hand.
3. The narrative is one of commerce, as it is clearly evident since you can see some people actually shopping. it is safe to say that more shopping is going to happen after wards. also before hand there was probably some employees arranging and checking stock and these activities probably will happen again after wards.
4. the photograph conveys the notion that at a quick glance society seems to be in a mode of chaos, however after due diligence you realize there is indeed some order and organization to society. it also displays the fact that society needs variety although the products serve the same functions.


Comments on Tim's Skype Conversation

the Skype conversation with Tim Rodaart was a great eye opener simply because, we were given the opportunity to interact with the source of all those pieces of work. this was rather surprising because most of the pieces that people had questions and comments about the answers we got back were somewhat different from what was expected. nevertheless, his comments were eye opening and inspirational in terms of how he gets his passion and inspirations.
